Why Shimmersome?

I’ve always been a sucker for sparkle. Among my favorite earthly sights are all things shimmery: city lights at night, strings of fairy lights at Christmas, the single flame of a candle in the evening, the moon’s reflection on a dark Upper Peninsula lake. Though each of these things is associated with darkness, it is the reflection of light that gives any given object its shine.
James 1:17 tells us that “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” Our Creator God has cast His light upon every good thing His hand provides. All knowledge, all beauty, all matter, and all of nature is woven together in the brilliance of His plan, for His glory, and for our good. It is from this perspective that I endeavor to view everything from news to food. That is the lens through which I write, create, and, I hope, the way I live.
Shimmersome exists to reflect His Light in one little corner of the web.
